Public Health Partnership Award

Submitted on Fri, 04/17/2015

Congratulations to Brian Riddell, Executive Director of Dutchess Outreach, for receiving the 2015 Public Health Partnership Award from the Dutchess County Board of Health. Since 1989, Brian has tirelessly worked to develop programs for Dutchess Outreach that address hunger and malnutrition and food insecurity throughout Dutchess County.

In 2014, the organization served approximately 220,000 meals to people who are unable to afford sufficient healthy food. The programs currently serve almost 5,000 families, including 2,000 children, with meals, emergency assistance and counseling services.

Brian has spearheaded development of a mobile food market, to debut in Poughkeepsie in June, which will provide critically needed access to nutritious, affordable produce in neighborhoods without markets.

It was a privilege for me to represent the Dutchess County Board of Health in presenting the Public Health Partnership Award to Brian at a meeting of the Dutchess County Legislature on April 13th, 2015
