Julieanne MacDonald
About
Julieanne joined Sholes Miller Rodriguez & Brown in November of 2017 as an Executive Assistant. Julieanne has an Associate degree in Visual Arts but has mainly worked throughout her career in the corporate world as an Administrative Assistant. She has worked in the industries of energy, publishing, and manufacturing before joining the legal industry with Sholes Miller Rodriguez & Brown, PLLC.
Shortly after joining the firm, the previous Firm Administrator left the company and Julieanne stepped into this role, quickly learning the ins and outs of managing a law firm and ultimately earning the title of Firm Administrator. She handles the firm’s client billing, accounts payable, human resources, information technology and facilities as well as many other non-legal related firm responsibilities.
Community Involvement
Sholes Miller Rodriguez & Brown is comprised of a group of animal lovers, and our Firm Administrator, Julieanne, is no exception. Julieanne is passionate about animals – she rescued many animals over the years including her two cats, Chloe and Fiona.
A few years ago, she became aware of a group of sheep and goats living close to her home that weren’t being cared for properly. The entire story of her involvement is long and had many ups and downs, but eventually she was able to convince the owner of these animals to relinquish them to her. With the help of her amazing family, several farm sanctuaries and some great friends she met along the way, she was able to find wonderful homes for every animal where they will be loved, properly cared for and never used for anything other than companionship.
Julieanne now regularly spends many of her weekends traveling to private homes and sanctuaries that are permanent homes to the sheep and goats she rescued, including a recent trip to visit some of the sheep at a sanctuary in Virginia. She even plans to include a trip out to Indiana to visit nine of the animals who were placed in a home there as well as a trip to Florida to visit three of the sheep who now live there.
She is also an experienced amigurumi maker (which is the art of crocheting toys) and she donates the items she makes to sell at farm sanctuary events to raise money for the animals.
Beautiful photographs and videos of the goats and sheep can be viewed online, as Julieanne maintains a digital presence. You can visit her website (www.jazybell.com) or YouTube channel (search Julieanne MacDonald). Additionally, she is in the process of writing a book about her journey of farm animal activism.
Julieanne also serves on the board of City Goat Farm, which is located on 13.3 acres of historic farmland in Charlton, NY. City Goat Farm is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing farmed animals in need and promoting a sustainable, ethical farming future. You can find out more on their website (www.citygoat.org).
